Heathrow T5 Update

Artists Impression of inside of T5

Artist Impression of outside of T5
Incidentally the extra terminal (5) will increase Heathrow Airport passenger capacity significantly, once finished, and should also reduce the squeeze that Transatlantic and long distance air passengers are receiving at Heathrow Terminal 3 at present.

- Our MD, Mr. K. Ceeney, has visited Heathrow...
On inspecting the plans for Terminal 5, which are currently on show in the Heathrow Visitor Centre, he said,
"Impressive, and a well thought out concept". He also commented, "A separate road junction from the M25 will limit impact to the local area, and they have great plans for transportation as well, I'm looking forward to Private Hire being part of that strategy".
At the end of his visit Mr Ceeney added, "All in all, I think Terminal 5 will be a great progression for Heathrow and all her visitors - and I hope with a limited amount of impact on the local surroundings".

M25 Motorway, 2 years of Delays almost over.
The M25 motorway, between the M3 and M4, is almost complete. Whilst creating this new junctions vehicles travelling between Gatwick and Heathrow will be3 delayed unless they can divert. We will advise callers and on on website quotations/bookings the journey times expected on your dates of travel. there are new road works at Heathrow Spur road, which will occassionally cause delays. Also, with increased sucurity, occasional delays can be expected entering the airport for terminals 1,2 & 3..

- Long queues for vehicles to enter Luton!!!

The pick up and drop off area at Luton has been closed - we are advising customers not to use Luton Airport unless they have no option.

- Luton More Improvements Needed!!!

- What about some cover?
Now all Luton needs to do is cover the walkway between the car park and the terminal now so passengers don't get wet or blown over walking to their vehicles? As visitors to Luton well know, the airport is located on a hill and is open to really inclement weather. At present Luton has a narrow walkway leading from the Passenger Terminal to the car parks. The only part that is slightly covered is at the Bus/Coach stops, but even here there is only a roof with no sides. This would be our next suggestion to Luton Airport - MAKE A COVERED WALKWAY - CATTLE WOULD NOT BE TREATED THIS WAY!!!!

: Sad News (?):

Sadly for some the landmark neon Lucozade sign welcoming Londoners back home, has been removed. Also welcoming millions and millions of Tourists and Visitors to London for over 50 years, the 1950s landmark beside the M4 in Brentford was removed on September 2 2004. The sign depicts the drink being poured into a glass with the slogan "Lucozade replaces lost energy", and it was removed carefully so it could be donated to the local Brentford 'Gunnersbury Park Museum'.

The drugs giant 'GlaxoSmithKline', owners of many leading brands including Lucozade, kept it illuminated long after the building was left vacant and derelict. For a while the same building also had an artistic grafetti dog with a pistol painted on it, saying to visitors 'Welcome to Hell'. Obviously the artist had a sheltered upbringing, but very talented nevertheless.

: New Cruise Ship Terminal For London:

A new passenger ship terminal for London opened recently. The Port of London Authority Cruise Terminal was designed and constructed to attract more cruise ships to London, coming up the Thames river as far as Tower Bridge in Central London. The purpose built floating Cruise Terminal will be used by passengers beginning or Ending their cruises in Central London. The terminal has on-site immigration & customs and also the latest security screning equipment. It is reported that this floating terminal can cater for large cruise ship carrying upto 1000 passengers and ships upto 240 meters long. This is believed to be the world's first floating cruise terminal and should create a great deal of interest to the large players in the Cruise Industry. Great news for London - because it is a floating terminal, the Port of London Authority will be able to use it for cruise ships moored at Greenwich and at Tower Bridge.

The Port of London Authority is the port authority for 150 km (95 miles) of the tidal Thames from Teddington to the sea. It provides navigational, pilotage and other services for ships using the Port of London. For more information CLICK HERE
