COMPANY BACKGROUND:
The KGC Group is the parent company of LondonAirConnections, flyingpurplepig.co.uk and others. We are a family run business that was originally set up by drivers for drivers. We have a strong ethos of public safety and service, and employee satisfaction. We all work together for each other and our clients. We work together with the PCO and Transport for London for a safer London.

The KGC Group has a small call centre in North London, but there are no driver amenities here.

LondonAirConnections drivers work from their own location. LAC specializes in Airport, Hotel and Cruiseport Vehicle Transfers Only.

Flying Purple Pig Tour drivers also work from their own location. FPP specializes in London & Southeast Photo Tours.

Full training for beginners - provided they are PCO Licensed and of 'suitable disposition'.

DUTY DRIVERS:

We have highly experienced Duty Drivers for every shift, who look after our other drivers and clients when/if your office is closed.
We operate an emergency number for clients, to reach our Duty Drivers, should they encounter difficulties whilst they are traveling. Duty Drivers can help you if you have problems with clients, such as clients lost luggage, road delays, confirming details etc. Duty Drivers can also help if your journey is delayed or if a client is late for a pickup appointment etc. They are there to help smooth operations. A Duty Driver's decision is final, provided that any controller on duty agrees..

WHO DO WE HIRE?
APPLIES TO ALL KGC GROUP BUSINESSES.

We want Licensed Drivers of the highest standards.
We are happy to employ the right candidate for the job required regardless of Colour, race or religion, but any candidate must speak fluent English.
We welcome Lady drivers and have a safe circuit policy for our Lady drivers.
LondonAirConnections welcome Drivers who speak a second language. Particularly French, Spanish and Italian.
We are happy to train new drivers for two weeks, provided they meet our criteria. Service background is an advantage to any candidate. New drivers will have to hire our dispatch system which includes a satellite navigation system. Any driver must have reached a good performance level within two weeks of being hired.

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF YOU AS A DRIVER?
APPLIES TO ALL KGC GROUP BUSINESSES.

The KGC Group is committed to providing excellent services to it's clients and as such we emphasize that drivers must be acting to the highest standards at all times. Complaints from clients are rare, but upon a complaint being found in clients favour, compensation may be paid out, which maybe up to the value of the full fare. In this case the driver concerned will have the compensation value added to their rent for the following week.

Drivers who we receive more than 3 complaints about within one six month period will be dismissed.

Drivers will pass a quick knowledge/Topographical test and a driving test before working for us.

Drivers must be smart - Shirt and Trousers, no jeans. Black Suit, White Shirt and Black shoes preferred. (Lady drivers must wear trousers not skirts!)

Drivers must not smoke in their vehicles nor in the presence of clients.

Drivers must check that they have the correct passengers, luggage etc. before commencement of any journey.

Drivers may be required to give a password to clients before picking up clients.

Drivers will drive within the speed limits, even if this means a late arrival for the passenger/s.
If a driver feels that he may not make a pickup allocated to him/her, he must alert the Controller or Duty Driver immediately.

Drivers must carry their Receipt Books, Account dockets & Pickup Boards and pens at all times.

Drivers will not offer their allocated work out to any other driver without permission of the controller.

Drivers will agree to our tariffs and waiting charges. No over charging will be tolerated, and in any dispute the controllers decision of fare price is final.

Drivers will own their own mobile telephone and have a hands free car kit fitted which can be used legally whilst vehicle is in motion.

Drivers mobile telephone must be in working order whilst on shift for us. No battery charged for your mobile - no work.

DRIVERS MUST NOT SOLICIT BUSINESS FROM ANY CUSTOMER FIRST INTRODUCED TO THEM BY OUR COMPANY.
We will dismiss any driver that does so, and report them to their licensing officer.
We will also prossicute any driver that solicits business from our clients - this is treated as theft from the firm, and all of our other drivers!
THIS APPLIES TO ALL KGC GROUP BUSINESSES.

Any driver found to be taking 'Private jobs' from any KGC Group Clients will be dismissed immediately.

Any driver found to be taking private work from our clients or 'Touting' the public will be reported to the (PCO or Council) Licensing Officer and the Metrolpolitan Police Force.

We dispatch fairly and evenly, and clients can request their favourite drivers if they want to. There should be no need to try to get private work whilst working for the KGC Group.

To perform work for the KGC Group you must sign a legal form to say you understand our employment terms and conditions.

VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS.
APPLIES TO ALL KGC GROUP BUSINESSES.

Vehicles must be modern & above average condition.

Vehicles must be PCO Licensed at all times.

All vehicles must have a M.O.T. every 6 months, unless under 1 year old.

Vehicles must be insured for six months periods (or longer)

Vehicles will be taxed correctly.

Vehicles must be clean inside and out cleaned regularly, minimum twice weekly.

LAC & LAT prefer MPV/Minivans, but also accept high standard Saloon and Estate Cars.

FULL TIME AIRPORT/ CRUISEPORT JOBS: (LondonAirConnections)
All Airport work is offered in a list format. The driver at top of the list is offered the job by text message and then he/she is then relegated to the bottom of the list, and all other drivers rise one place in the list. This system is then repeated. We do try to tie up jobs to get returns, but this is not always possible. Because we only take advance bookings, most jobs are offered the day before pickup. This allows our drivers to plan their day etc. Sometimes journeys are offered same day, but this is rare. Driver pay commission on jobs completed.

PART-TIME POSITIONS: 'In-House Drivers'
APPLIES TO ALL KGC GROUP BUSINESSES.

We do offer part-time work to Licensed Private Hire Drivers. To qualify for occasion tenders from us the following criteria must be met. Drivers must be fully licensed by the PCO, or their local authority, they must have their own insurance for a term of six months or longer. Taxi Pak and third party fleet insurance's will not be accepted. Applicants must be owner drivers of clean vehicles less than 7 years old and all vehicles used must be fully licensed also. We do have a small topographical test and a small driving ability test. Almost all our drivers come from recommendations from our own drivers and/or clients. Some drivers who sign up for part-time work may also work for another operator, and we have no problem with this, provided there is no clash of interest. At present we charge 15% commission, not rent, on all work accepted. Rates vary.

HOW PART TIME JOBS ARE OFFERED: (LondonAirConnections)
All work is offered in a list format. Drivers are placed at the bottom of the driver list when they sign up. The driver at top of the list is offered the next available job and, whether he accepts or not, he/she is then relegated to the bottom of the list, and all other drivers rise one place in the list. Work is offered by mobile phone text message, which must be confirmed with a YES or No within a set time limit. We do not operate a radio circuit. If three jobs are refused in a row, a driver may be de-listed.
